Overview of my mentorship
With my undergraduate background in Mechatronics Engineering, I am honoured to facilitate potential young youths to participate in Robotics Competitions at National-Level, and International-Level. My responsibilities included:
- Identifying and coaching team members of Team Cambodia for International-Level in the FGC- 2021 (Online – Theme: DISCOVER & RECOVER), and FGC-2022 (Geneva – Theme: CAPTURE AND STORAGE OF CARBON DIOXIDE) that participated by > 160 nations, and mentoring all students’ STEM projects for National-Level such as WRO.
- Organizing study trip to European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN) after the competition FGC-2022 in Geneva
- Supporting the teams in identifying problems, brainstorming solutions, creating prototypes, testing and evaluating the results, and implementing improvements to the final robot.
- Providing technical support to help the teams to troubleshoot technical issues and maintain a positive and constructive attitude while working through challenges to ensure the team remains focused on achieving the objectives.
- Motivating and managing team dynamics throughout the different stages of development: forming, storming, norming, and performing. This involves addressing conflicts, promoting communication, and fostering collaboration for optimal team productivity.
- Overseeing team reflection, facilitating learning opportunities, and implementing corrective actions to improve team performance.
- Inspiring, mentoring, and providing a vision for the former FGC 2022 members to create the Tech Camp club that enhances their competency, increases their impact and ensures their success in future international competitions.
